WordPress Plugins

Some plugins have been developed specifically for use within the WordPress Multisite installations at the University of Leeds (see the menu on the left). Other plugins in this installation are listed below (please note, this list is not exhaustive!).

  • Advanced Custom Fields
    Fully customisable custom fields to apply to posts/pages and other post types. Usually depends on theme support.
  • Contact Form 7 or Fast Secure Contact Form
    Use these for contact forms, or the collection of any other data from your site. Saves data to the database so it can be downloaded as a CSV file.
  • Easy FancyBox
    Enables the FancyBox jQuery extension on all image, SWF, PDF, YouTube, Dailymotion and Vimeo links.
  • NextGEN Gallery
    A NextGENeration Photo Gallery for WordPress
  • Post Thumbnail Editor
    If you use post thumbnails, this can be really useful when you need to crop the images differently.
  • Rich Text Excerpts
    If you use custom excerpts for displaying archives, this will enable end users to add links and formatting to them
  • Simple Page Ordering
    Creates a drag-and drop method of ordering pages – essential for site which operate like a CMS.
  • Slim Jetpack
    A “slim” version of the Jetpack suite of plugins unlinked from WordPress.com
  • Types
    Allows users to create custom content types (also known as post types).
  • User Role Editor
    Change/add/delete WordPress user roles and capabilities.
  • WordPress SEO
    The first true all-in-one SEO solution for WordPress, including on-page content analysis, XML sitemaps and much more.
  • WP to Twitter
    Posts a Tweet when you update your WordPress blog
  • WPMLA suite of plugins designed to create a multilingual wordpress site (license required)
